North of Angoulême, near the town of Mansle, this quaint detached holiday cottage is set in the village of Aunac, which has a restaurant and shops. Surrounded by woods through which to wander, it has a pretty enclosed garden with a nice terrace to eat outside in the sun. The interior has been completely restored and is furnished with interesting antiques, an old stone sink and lovely soft furnishings. Half an hour away in Angoulême there is a huge lake with beach for sailing, an 18-hole golf course, an interesting cartoon museum and plenty of nice shops in cobbled streets. You can also go canoeing on the River Charente from Mansle or visit the distilleries of Cognac a little further._Ground floor: Living/dining/kitchen with doors to terrace.
