The coastline here is mainly dunes and pine forests, you can cycle for miles through the forest of Les Landes without going on a public road. Walking, horse riding, golfing, sailing, swimming and other watersports are equally well catered for. Day trips can include a walk up Europes highest sand dune at Pyla, an outing to the watersports park at Aqualand, a visit to the oyster beds and the bird sanctuary in the Bassin d&rsquo; Arachon or shopping in the fashionable streets of the town.
