Lacanau Ocean is sandwiched between 20 kms of white sand dunes, beautiful pine forests and a stunning lake. This is an area of contrasts and the perfect place for a holiday. The wooded areas invite you in for lazy summer walks, cycle rides or horse-riding and the vast beaches are ideal for sailing, surfing and land-sailing. The waves on this area of the coast make Lacanau Ocean a paradise for watersports enthusiasts as surfers flock to ride the reliable Atlantic waves. This is similarly a golfer’s paradise, with an 18-hole and two 9-hole golf courses nearby. Indeed the fantastic courses are one of the many reasons why customers return year upon year as the climate in this area of France means the greens remain fresh and inviting even in the summer sun, and the sea breeze makes for ever enjoyable games. Tennis, squash and cycling in the beautiful pine forest setting are all a must.<br />There are other non sporting excursions nearby: the typical French seaside town of Arcachon is ideal for a day trip, or further inland, Bordeaux should be visited. You can visit the huge sand-dune at Arcachon; children will love running up and down here and this makes an ideal spot for a lazy picnic. Bordeaux city will provide an interesting twist to your beach holiday as you sample the shops on the famous Rue St Catherine, enjoy the restaurants and bars in Place Gambetta and marvel at the stunning architecture of Le Grand Theatre or the shabby-chic Place de la Victoire. Further inland as the landscape changes to rolling vineyards, wine connoisseurs will be spoilt for choice between the Medoc and Graves vineyards, just two of the numerous quality Domaines around Bordeaux._Same as B476 but 1 twin bedroom is on the ground floor with access to a terrace, and the queen size double and 2 twin bedrooms are on the first floor with access to a balcony.
