Somme_Just a few hours from both London and Paris, and 10 kms from the Somme Bay, the Belle Dune resort is an entirely pedestrian complex set amidst pine trees and sand dunes, next to an 18 hole golf course and spread around two lakes. The attractive beaches of Fort Mahon are accessible on foot between the dunes (2 kms), or by the free mini-train between the beach and Quend-Plage (1/7-31/8)._All the family will enjoy the superb indoor Aquaclub pool complex (free access). Surrounded by pebbled beaches, the open air section features a waterchute, giant waterslide and jacuzzi (16/6-3/9). There is a small animal farm, an outdoor games area, tennis courts (payable locally) as well as a variety of kids clubs. The resort is divided into 5 areas linked by footpaths and cycle tracks. The Hameau area is closer to the club house and practice range whilst Ile aux Oiseaux is quieter and borders a small lake (requests are not guaranteed). Car recommended._All houses have living/dining area with single sofa bed and a pull-out bed. Fitted kitchen corner with 4 hotplates, mini-oven, dishwasher and coffee machine. Stairs to one double and one twin bedroom. Bathroom with separate wc. Garden area with furnished terrace.
